Le Creuset

I’ve been MIA for pretty much the past week, and for that I apologize.  Hang in there with me and I promise I’ll be back to my food cookin’, picture takin’ self in no time!

Last week I made a purchase.  A purchase I’d been wanting to make for, oh, as long as I can remember.

Maybe not quite that long.  But a long, long time.

And now that I have what I’ve been wanting for, I feel as though life is complete.  For the next five minutes,  anyway.

Folks.  I bought a Le Creuset French Oven.

Oh, Le Creuset, how happy you’ve made me in the first week of our relationship.  I didn’t know things could ever be this good or right.  I feel like I’ve known you all my life.  All this time I’ve wanted us to get together and make magic happen – and it’s better than I ever imagined.

I’m in love.

And now I’m wracking my brain and my cookbooks for dishes to prepare in it.  Because something this beautiful isn’t meant to merely be admired.  Though it does look pretty just sitting on my stove.  But as we all know, looks aren’t what matter.  Not entirely, anyway…

…what also matters is that it heats up like a dream and cleans up beautifully.  So far I’ve made meat sauce and reheated beouf bourguignon in it.  Not much, I know, but I hope to delve deeper into our relationship soon.  Very soon.

So, friends – any ideas for a great roast, stew or soup I can whip up in this bad boy?

This post is full of entirely my own opinions and affection towards my new best friend.  Le Creuset is in no way reimbursing me for this, though I wouldn’t mind it if they did. ;)

  1. The first thing we made when we got our 9 1/2 qt oval, forest green, was Coq au Vin. Oh .. MY .. GOD! That’s all i need to say.

  2. You totally deserved this purchase! I have no recipes for you, cause ya know, I can’t cook. But I’m trying! I’ll be happy to taste test it for you though!

  3. Cassoulet. Recipes are on the internet; every Le Creuset must be baptized with a traditional French dish, and this fits and cooks prefect in mine.

  4. I feel the same way! I adore my Le Crueset pieces! Congrats

  5. I’m in love with Le Creuset as well. I registered for my first one and then have bought two since we got married because I watch sales & also go to their outlet nearby. I make so many things in them – stews, pasta sauces, mussels/clams steam pots, so much! I even keep them out on the counter because I think they are an awesome accessory. It totally annoys my husband.
