Another week, another Striiv update!
I admit, this wasn’t the most stellar week when it came to steps taken – my total fell to 23,926. Two factors played into this. First, I spent the entire weekend focused on writing since I’m participating in NaNoWriMo and was way behind (now I’m ahead of the game, thankyouverymuch!). Second, the sore throat I started out with on Thursday turned into a full-blown cold complete with a hacking cough. I’m super attractive right now, in other words, and you all want to hang out with me.
So I’ve been resting when I can.
Unattractive coughing aside, Striiv hangs out with me wherever I go – we’re still joined at the hip, you might say. 😉
Last week I found myself going out of my way in order to score an extra step or two – taking the long way back to my desk from the office kitchen, walking a report to someone’s desk rather than dropping it in their mailbox, using the ladies room on the other side of the floor. It still amazes me how the steps add up! And these little tricks to score more steps are the building blocks to healthier habits, I know.
It’s still so gratifying to reach little milestones like reaching my daily average, surpassing the national average of 4,900 steps a day, breaking my own records. That kind of reinforcement keeps movement at the forefront of my consciousness, and that’s a very good thing.
